This Week we are featuring the Amazing...
with professional advice on:
"Leave your hair & makeup to the professionals"
When it comes to your wedding day, your hair & makeup is just as important as the dress you are wearing. Not only is your look important, it is imperative that you find a stylist that you trust, are confident in and have seen and love their work. So where to start?! Well, here are few tips to help you find the perfect stylist and have a great wedding day hair & makeup experience!
1. If at all possible, start looking for your hairstylist/makeup artist
6 months prior to the wedding day! This will allow time for you to shop around.
2. Although you may have a stylist who does cut/color for you currently,
don't assume they do updo's or they do them well. Ask them to show you some of their work. And be sure if you do decide to go to the salon on wedding day that you check ahead and make sure they have appointments available for your maids as well. Leave ample time after leaving the salon to get back and get ready. If you will be rushed for time on that day, a good alternative is to hire an on location hair/makeup team, this will allow everyone to be in the same location getting ready all together and tends to create a more relaxing experience.
3. Before you make a choice, always
consult anyone you know has been involved with weddings and had their hair/makeup done for formal events. Your wedding planners/coordinators can be key here, as they have worked on numerous weddings and know the talent in the industry and also the reliability of stylist/artists.
4.
Schedule a Trial run at least 2 months (more if possible) prior, so if any changes need to be made to the style, there is adequate time to discuss or redo the style.
5.
Bring photos of looks that you like, any veils, head peices, etc that you will be wearing to your trial. Do not feel intimidated to let the stylist/artist know if you are not pleased with the look and would like to try something else.
6. Last but definitely not least make sure the stylist and yourself are on the
same page for all your scheduled dates and times and location information. Also, whoever you choose develop a long term relationship with them, as you never know when you may need them for another event.
Happy Styling!:)
