Pro Tip Thursday

Welcome to
Pro Tip Thursday
This Week we are featuring the Amazing...
with professional advice on: Keeping "Summer" Out of Your Hair

"We all know that in florida summer is totally roasting, which means lots of sun on those strands. Not to mention chlorine and saltwater can leave your hair dry and lackluster. Here's a few things to do to keep those strands looking beautiful.

1. Be sure to wet your hair with regular water before entering the pool or any chlorinated water. If your hair is already wet, less chlorine can't enter. And rinse again when your done swimming.
2. Keep a hat on when sun bathing or for those long hours outside. This helps your color not to fade so quickly and the sun not to dry your hair out.
3. Do a weekly deep conditioning treatment, no matter how much you avoid the sun your hair will always benefit from this! If you are in the pool alot be sure to use a clarifying shampoo once a week as well, this will pull all the chlorine out that may remain in your hair and cause it to dry out!"

Sweet Praise

Here are a few sweet words from our recent clients.
Thank you Ladies, we have loved working with you
and appreciate the opportunity to participate in your BIG day!

"Confetti Events provided us with outstanding service in the wedding preparation and on the day of the wedding. It allowed the family to feel relaxed and know that all of the details were taken care of appropriately. From set up to take down and paying the vendors, everything was handled professionally and with a smile. I appreciated everything the "team" did for us as it made it a day without stress and created an absolutely wonderful memory. Thank you so much!"
-Dawn
Mother of The Bride, Davis Island Yacht Club Wedding

"We hired Jamie as our "Day Of" coordinator based off of a recommendation from some of the folks at our venue. However, based on our experience with her, I would NEVER refer to her as merely a "Day Of" coordinator. Jamie met with us on a handful of occasions before our wedding to make sure we had everything in order. Jamie has got to be the most precise and detail-oriented person that I have ever met. We had several of our vendors, from our DJ to our Guitarist to our Officiant, comment on the level of detail she showed in the work for our wedding.

She took names and numbers for everybody, communicated to us when we had deadlines or dates or details that we needed to attend to so we could not forget, and essentially handled ALL the "behind the scenes" work for us. She put together our centerpieces, had a team on-site at our venue all day making sure the preparations were going smoothly, and kept the schedule moving before the ceremony then during the reception. She ensured all the vendors were paid up at the end of their duties, that the top tier of our wedding cake was saved, that the fish were taken out of our centerpieces and distributed at the end of the night... honestly there are just too many details to list. She did it all.

We both agree that there was virtually no day-of stress because Jamie handled everything. There is no way that we can thank her enough for all the hard work that she did, and our family has commented that for future family weddings in Tampa we intend to use Jamie as the wedding planner! We cannot say enough about Jamie and the hard work of her entire team at Confetti Events. They do an absolutely fantastic job in every aspect and we urge you to use them as your wedding planners!"
-Nicole
Bride, Tampa Wedding

"Jamie and Laurie with Confetti events were just fabulous. Truly the "fairy Godmothers" we asked for and needed. They made everything very easy and absolutely beautiful. They are very professional, have great expertise and advise, and are just so darn fun to hang out with...and that is really what it is all about! The best decision we made around our wedding was hiring them...hands down!"
-Jasmine
Bride, Ritz Carlton Wedding

"I am so pleased with the tremendous amount of time and effort Confetti Events put into my GORGEOUS wedding. I couldn't have done it without them! Jamie is extremely professional and capable of handling any challenge. She is very detail oriented, organized, prompt and a great communicator. I just adore her. She works with the BEST vendors and can accomodate any budget. I was on a budget and was able to afford the most magnificent flowers and fun details, such as: an ice sculpture, photo booth, top of the line linens, monogramed wall lighting, etc. Laurie provided the cutest menu cards, escort cards, and monogramed details. I had the best day of my life and I didn't have to think about the timeline or what was going on with the vendors ONCE on the day of my wedding. I highly recommend using Confetti Events for your special day as well. After all, every bride deserves to see their vision come to life and Confetti events made my dream come true!"
-Sheli
Bride, St Pete Beach Wedding

"Worth their weight in gold! I primarily worked with Laurie who was on the same page with me the entire time. They were always cool and collected, tremendously organized and on top of the wedding details. Laurie was a great sounding board and provided great vendor suggestions. The creativity and idea flow was incredible and my concept was quickly transformed into a beautiful reality! I let the experts perform their magic and everything exceded my expectations. My venue looked incredible! I would highly recommend Confetti Events for any event."

Pro Tip Thursday

Welcome to
Pro Tip Thursday
This Week we are featuring the very talented

"Hello, Jacob here with Music on the Move DJ's, the Award-Winning DJ Entertainment Service. There are a lot of DJ's out there and it may appear that they offer the same thing for less. Please keep in mind that there can be some major differences between DJ companies. It's important to be more informed when planning the largest party/event of your life. To be more informed, here are a few questions you should be asking when talking with a DJ before making your decision.

1) How many years have you been in business? We are well established with over 15 years in the Industry.

2) How many Weddings have you or your company performed? Our company has performed several thousand weddings.

3) Is this your full time job or part time job? This is our full time job which means we put you first, we are easy to get a hold of, and we put the time, money, and energy into our training, equipment, music, etc...that a part time DJ won't or can't.

3) Are you Licensed & Insured? We carry a $1,000,000 liability policy in the unlikely event that something happens.

4) Do you bring back up equipment? Most DJ's don't bring back up equipment. So, if their Mixer, CD Player, Computer, Mic., or Wiring fail, this means your event is Finished. Not with us. We bring all the key back up equipment to keep the event going in the unlikely event something breaks down.

5) Do you have more than one DJ & if so what kind of Experience/Training do they have? A lot of multi DJ operations subcontract out to the lowest bidding DJ without notice to experience, training, MC skills, music selection & professional equipment. We on the other hand have 5 highly experienced DJ's/MC's whom we have personally trained, and each have done hundreds of events, and each has been with us between 7 to 15 years!

6) How many properties refer you? This is a big one because hotels/country clubs see all kinds of DJ's and will only refer those that do a good/consistent job. You want someone who can ramble off a dozen or more properties. Our company is one of the most requested & referred DJ companies in the Bay Area!

7) And, do you have any awards or been recognized for your talents in the industry? We have been voted, through The Knot, "Best of Weddings for 2007, 2008, & 2009" and 2009 "Best of Florida & The Southeast". And we were voted "Wedding Professional of the Year" by The Professional Wedding Guild of Tampa and Awarded "Bride's Choice for 2010" through Wedding Wire.

I hope these questions help you make the right decision on your Wedding entertainment. The value we offer with what you get compared to most other services is second to none. If you have any questions about our highly experienced & trained DJ's/MC's, company, packages or pricing, please call 813-661-2933. Also, visit my web site http://www.musiconthemovedj.com/ for lots of useful information. I hope we can work with you to make your event the best ever!"

Quick Tip: How to Apply Flawless Liquid Eyeliner

"No matter whether you prefer pencil or liquid, eyeliner should frame your eyes without making you look over done. Here are some great ways to get a clean finished liquid liner look.

*Pro Tip* To keep liquid liner on all day apply after your eye primer and eyeshadow.

1. Find a liquid liner that is fast drying. This will keep it from smudging as easily. Instead of using the sponge tip brush that comes with the liquid eyeliner find a thin tipped flexible brush.

2. Shake your liquid liner container well and pore a small amount on a flat surface or the back of your hand.

*Pro Tip* Place the mirror on the counter or if using a standing mirror, tilt it back so that you are looking down at the mirror.

3. Use your brush and add enough product that it slides comfortably across the back of your hand.

4. The best way to apply liquid eyeliner is to start by drawing in the center of your upper lash-line out to the corner of your eye.

*Pro Tip* Keep a wet Q-tip handy. Squeeze it flat. After you've applied your liner, pull the Q-tip along the bottom of the line on the outer corner of your eye to give it a sharp finished look. You can also smudge it with a pencil brush.

5. Finish your look by curling your lashes and apply a few coats of your favorite mascara.

Practice makes perfect! Liquid liner takes a steady hand so try different ways of holding your brush!"

Welcome to
Pro Tip Thursday
This Week we are Featuring Dreama with Dream Cakes FL

with professional advide on "Sweet Wedding Trends"

"Cupcake Weddings are one of the most interesting and fun wedding trends that happy couples are choosing today. Beautiful tiered stands are adorned with personalized decorated cupcakes to replace a traditional tiered wedding cake. The style may range from traditional to whimsical, and a cupcake bar may be added for guests to decorate their own delectable delight!

So the newlyweds may also still celebrate in the tradition of a "cake cutting" the top of the cupcake stand may have a small decorated cake on top for the bride and groom to slice and then feed one another. Cupcakes are also very convenient and easy to carry, therefore making a sweet favor for guests to take home in festive boxes to enjoy later.

TIP: order additional cupcakes for guests as they cannot be cut smaller for additional servings

Lifs is Scrumptious......enjoy the sweetness!" - Dreama
