Pro Tip Thursday

Welcome to
Pro Tip Thursday
This Week we are featuring the Amazing...
with professional advice on: Hiring a Videographer

"First: I can not tell you how many times I hear - I wish I had my wedding recorded, its the one regret. Even if cinematography is not in the budget, look into it. How else are you going to hear your vows or the wedding blessings from grandma who will not be around much longer. Lots of people do not like to be on camera, but with the right artist you don't even know they are there recording you.

Second, know your artist. When planning for a wedding or any event for that matter, the vendors you choose need to see your vision. You need to be able to connect with them. Honestly on the wedding day, your cinematographer and photographer are with you the most. If you click with them professionaly by falling in love with their movies and connect with their personality - book them!"

Pro Tip Thursday

Welcome to
Pro Tip Thursday
This Week we are featuring the Uniquely Talented...
we LOVE working with Alex and the Voila Team!
Here is some great advice that may help you...

"Many brides believe that when planning the timeline for their wedding day,
it is important to keep the filmmakers at the reception until the end of the
evening. In our expert opinion, when choosing times, it is much more
important to capture the moments leading up to the wedding ceremony than
to shoot hours of dancing footage at the end of the night. We as wedding
filmmakers tell the story of the day. So many of the emotional moments
happen prior to the ceremony- the first time a bride puts on her dress, the
family seeing her for the first time, the men enjoying a special toast before the
wedding. So, if a couple must choose which hours to capture on film, remember
the important beginnings of the story generally
happen before the wedding ceremony."

Pro Tip Thursday

Welcome to
Pro Tip Thursday
This Week we are featuring the amazing ...
Bryan Coward of Tampa Wonderworks
with professional advice on Videography:

"Tracey and I came across a blog that shared ideas about Family Video Projects and we thought we'd pass along some of our favorites for you and your family to have fun with! Hope this inspires you with your at home filmmaking!" -Bryan

Family Video Projects

1. Family Recipes
A lot of family recipes can't be written down because they only exist in grandma's head. But if you get her to make her famous cookies in front of the camera, you'll always be able to replicate them.

2. Interviews
Everyone has stories to tell, they're just waiting to be asked. Ask mom and dad about being kids; ask the kids about growing up; or ask grandma and grandpa about the good old days.

3. Give the Kids the Camera
If the kids are old enough, let them use the video camera for the day. They'll have a lot of fun, and you'll get to see the world from their perspective.

4. Yearbook Videos
Package a year's worth of videos together in one "yearbook" to commemorate the passage of time. These can make great birthday presents, or end-of-year projects to complete as a family over winter break.

5. Make a Movie Together
Working together as a family to put together a movie can be a rewarding project. You can re-create a scene from your favorite movie, adapt a story, or write one yourselves. Everyone can act in the movie and be part of the production crew; it'll make for a fun day together, and you'll create a lasting memento.

6. Home Tour
Take the camera on a room to room tour of the house. This is something your insurance adjuster will love you for, and it's a nice keepsake if you're moving. You can also record narration over the tour with family members talking about their memories and favorite things about your home.

7. Events and Celebrations
Birthdays, holidays, school plays, family reunions--these are the reasons you bought a video camera in the first place! Now just remember to use it. You'll be happy to be able to look back on these memories in years to come.

Sincerely,

Bryan Coward

Surprise Reception

This is hilarious, what a great idea! Jessica just found this video on Improv Everywhere, so we thought we would share it with you... take a look and have a good laugh!

They picked a random couple getting married at the City Clerk’s Office in Manhattan and threw them a surprise wedding reception. The couple was treated to dancing, toasts, cake, and gifts, all with complete strangers... too FUNNY!
