Vicky is an AMAZING designer with great professional advice on Wedding Gowns:

"Brides usually come to us with an idea of what silhouette they want for their wedding day. Sometimes they have set their mind up to a specific silhouette that will hide what they consider areas".  I always encourage all our brides to try on all available silhouettes. You never know what will look good on you until you try it on. Curvier girls tend to go for more of an A-line gown to hide their hips. That is the most common request and safe choice. In my opinion they should try a sheath and a mermaid style gown that will hug and show off their curves.

Bustier girls choose straps or halter necklines but a straight strapless gown looks great as it shows of their décolletage etc. When you are shopping for your gown it's ok and fun to play dress up! So don't hide behind what you think will look good try on everything and find out what looks good. The most important thing is to feel comfortable and be yourself as that is your red carpet moment."

Thanksgiving...

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!
Thank you to everyone who made this year so spectacular for us,
we love you and feel so thankful for ALL of our many blessings!

We wish you a Beautiful day filled with family, friends, and good food!
May your day be blessed!

Love,

"Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today and creates a vision for tomorrow."

Ideas We Love

Welcome to
"Ideas We Love"
This week our FRESH idea to keep you inspired is...

We love these unique Guitar Picks for your groomsmen, wedding guests, or even the special "rocker" in your life. This a perfect gift for that special someone who has everything... THINK ENGAGEMENT! ANNIVERSARY! WEDDINGS! BIRTHDAYS! HOLIDAYS! THANK YOUS! TEACHERS! FRIENDS! FAMILY!

We love these handcrafted picks because they are handcut, handstamped, handhammered, and handsanded. You can have the pick personalized with a unique phrase, message, or monogram. We even like the idea of placing them on wine glasses for guests to take as favors.

Cut to a standard Fender pick size, these picks won't break like plastic picks. Tested by guitarists, these picks passed muster and gave their playing a brighter, cleaner sound. The edges are handcut straight and then handsanded silky smooth. No rough edges to hurt your strings.

Pro Tip Thursday

Cory is one of our favorite DJ's, and seriously the nicest guy EVER!
We LOVE working with him and always appreciate the amazing job he does for our clients.
Here is some professional advice on What to look for in a DJ:

"We feel that the choice of entertainment for a couple’s special day is one of the most important decisions. Disc Jockeys don’t just “spin tunes”. They give structure to the evening making sure everything is moving along according to plan. A great DJ should be professional, friendly, timely and organized. Most of all they should tailor to fit the needs of each individual bride and groom. They really can make or break any event. We feel that references are the most reliable way that you have to guarantee that you will be happy with your choice of entertainment. Professional ones like your coordinator, banquet director, photographer or caterer. They get a chance to work with DJs almost every weekend so they definitely know who to recommend and…who to stay away from. When they recommend a DJ it means they have enough faith in that company to put their own reputation on the line. That DJ company not only has to uphold their own good name, but the professionals that recommend them as well! Keep in mind that in the grand scheme of the cost of a wedding, if you spend a little more and get a fabulous DJ then it would be $$ well worth spent. On the other hand, if you save a little and get a DJ that perhaps shows up late, forgets an important detail of their event, lacks experience, doesn’t dress properly, etc….was it worth it??"

Pro Tip Thursday

Welcome to
Pro Tip Thursday
This Week we are featuring...

We are looking forward to working with Puff 'n Stuff, and just love Aymee Brace!
Here are some "Things to consider when you are trying to select a caterer:"

1. Always make sure they are licensed, insured, etc and are willing to show you. When you are dealing with food….its a must!!

2. I feel like people don’t fit into a “package”! If your caterer sends you menu packages, give them some ideas when it comes to your “likes”, “dislikes”, “must haves” and let them come up with a custom menu for you. That way the food your guests will eat reflects your personality and taste. After all, caterers do this every day of their lives. Why not tap into their expertise?

3. One of the most important things is RESPONSE!!!! This is the category most people spend the bulk of their budget on, so its imperative you get quick response from the person you will be dealing with the entire time. If it takes a week to respond to an email before you book, it wont get any better

4. Ask for a private tasting! When I got married I wanted to experience what my guests would the night of our wedding and Im sure most other brides and grooms do too. You need to check out their presentation. Even if you are on a tighter budget, presentation can make it look amazing even if it’s a simple dish!

5. Don’t be afraid to make changes to your menu. Its hard to guess exactly what someone will eat so feel free to add and change where you and your fiancé feel necessary

6. Make sure you get the OUT THE DOOR price! Ask what costs will pop up? Are they passing on the venue caterer fee on to you? Are they charging you to upgrade to china? Are they charging you for equipment? Most of the time someone will be slightly cheaper but in the end they are more expensive and you are frustrated with the hidden fees. You get what you pay for and if you are having to pay for it anyway, know it up front!! If someones giving away the farm, be cautious!

7. Ask how the caterer will deal with pop up situations. Inclement weather, no cooking equipment on the property, how far ahead of time do they get there to make sure traffic doesn’t affect them showing up. Anything you can think of happening could and you need to know how they will handle that.

8. Ask about their staff!!! Background checks, are they professionally trained, how often do they work for the caterer?

9. WHO will be there the day of your wedding/event? I try to be there for every one of them, if I cant be there I tell them ahead of time. If the person who you’ve been working with WONT be there then who will and how will they know the key things you’ve conveyed to your contact?

10. And my very favorite one….REPUTATION! If the vendors in the community trust your caterer then you should be able to as well. Its great to hear reviews or peoples opinions but the wedding professionals deal with them every week and know what they are like to work with! Ask around.
