Beauty Tip 101: How to Create a Smokey Eye

"I love smoky eyes, but sometimes they can look more like a black eye then a sultry eye!

The best way to start is with a crease-free base all over your eye lid to keep your shadow from creasing and stay on all day. I prefer using a fluffy eyeshadow brush to apply any cream textured base to the eyes.

Next choose four colors to make your smokey look go from light to dark.

Blend your second to the darkest color over your lid beginning at your lash line and blend up to your crease.

With a crease brush, blend your second to the lightest color in your crease. This will buff out any of your lid color and give the appearance of an airbrushed look.

*Pro Tip* You can almost always use the same color in your crease if you choose a neutral skin tone color that is a few shades darker then your skin tone.

Use your pencil brush and buff your darkest color into your lash line from the top to bottom lid.

*Pro Tip* You can also take a smokey black pencil and line your inner eye. Then dab black shadow over top of the pencil to keep it from moving. Water resistant pencils work best for the inner eye.

Blend your lightest color on your brow bone and finish the look off with pitch black mascara."
